The Defereggen Valley

The Defereggen Valley, framed by the majestic mountain ranges of the Alps, is home to the village of St. Jakob. This picturesque area is nestled at the base of many lovely hiking trails, ski areas and the Hohe Tauern Nature Park. In summer get “lost” in the fuchsia swaths of blooming rhododendron as you enjoy many of the activities the area has to offer: hiking, biking, e-biking, horseback riding, climbing and paragliding. The Hohe Tauern National Park is one of the most spectacular high mountain landscapes on planet Earth and the biggest National Park in central Europe. Nice hotel in the great ski area of St Jakob in Deffereggental. Staff, service, wellness is very good and especially at the prices. Stayed there twice this winter for a few nights. Always happy to return.
